ENERGY SAVINGS ANALYSIS & ENERGY MODELING PROJECTS

Webster Groves Recreation Complex
CxE Group has completed a Level II Technical Analysis Study through the Ameren Missouri Business Energy Efficiency Program for this recreation complex comprised of an ice arena, fitness center and gymnasium, community center, acquatic center, skate park, and tennis center.  The study consisted of an exhaustive review of energy usage and issues relating to the building envelope, lighting, and mechanical systems.  Since the ice arena uses a majority of the energy, particular attention was given to the ice rink and the related support areas.  Using energy modeling analysis software and manual calculation, CxE identified various energy conservation opportunities and electric incentives available, with estimated annual utility cost savings of $75,000 and potential electric incentives of $38,000.
E.T. Simonds Construction Company
CxE Group has completed a Level III Feasibility Report on behalf of the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC) for the E.T. Simonds Construction Company in Carbondale, Illinois.  This facility consists of a main office building constructed in three phases (1980, 1998, 2001) and several outbuildings, including a shop building, and a large yard area.  The study began with a focus on the main office building but quickly expanded to include the energy usage of the shop and yard area.  Using both manual calculations and energy modeling analysis software, CxE identified various energy cost reduction measures and electric and natural gas incentives available, with estimated annual utility cost savings of $12,500 and potential incentives of $11,500.

Novus International, Inc., Missouri Research Park
CxE Group has completed a Level 2 Technical Analysis Study through the AmerenUE C/I Incentive Program for Novus International, Inc., a LEED Platinum facility, located in St. Charles, Missouri.  While only 20% of the building consistsof laboratories, nearly 70% of the energy usage could be attributed to these spaces.  We identified 23% energy savings with a relatively quick return on investment and an additional 30% savings potential with greater level of capital investment.

Schnucks Harvester Supermarket
CxE Group has completed a Level 2 Technical Analysis Study through the AmerenUE C/I Incentives Program for the Schnucks Supermarket located in Harvester, Missouri.  This study consisted of an exhaustive review of energy usage and issues relating to the building envelope and lighting, mechanical, and control systems to identify energy conservation opportunities.  Annual utility cost savings were estimated at $73,000 and potential electric incentives of $55,000.

Webster Groves City Hall
CxE Group performed a Level 1 Technical Analysis Study through the AmerenUE C/I Incentives Program.  This study included identification of energy conservation opportunities
through compilation and review of energy usage data and issues concerning the building envelope, lighting system,  mechanical systems, and control systems.  Annual utility cost savings were estimated at $15,700 and potential electric incentives of $14,000.

Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church
CxE Group provided services for mechanical system and control system upgrades to resolve operating issues and improve energy performance for a 46,600 SF church with sanctuary, office space, classrooms, meeting rooms, kitchen, and gymnasium.  We also researched and provided energy modeling to obtain financial incentives through AmerenUE in Missouri.
